Heritage Open Day: Open Church. Opportunity to visit the ancient parish church of Bishop Auckland. Built on a Saxon foundation, the current building dates from the 13th century. It was added to by the Prince Bishops Bishop Bek and Cardinal Langley. Come and see this wonderful Grade 1 listed church with its beautiful stained-glass windows and Saxon cross. There will be a prayer station and the opportunity to light a candle in memory of a loved one.
