Witney and District Museum - National Lacemaking Day
Heritage Open Day: A chance to try Tatting or Bobbin Lace making Tatting is a technique for producing a durable lace from a series of knots and loops using a small shuttle. Popular in the 1800’s, the craft went into decline early in the 20th century. With the increased interest in old crafts being re-discovered, here is an opportunity to try it yourself.
The craft will be shown at the museum by renowned author, tutor and designer Jennifer Williams who will be supported by some local crafters.
