Winston Churchill Memorial Gardens
Heritage Open Day: The Friends of the Winston Churchill Memorial Gardens & Honeybourne Line will have a display on the history of the Gardens. The Winston Churchill Memorial Gardens opened as a park in 1966.
Originally an orchard, this was the town's burial ground between 1831 and 1864. The twentieth century saw the arrival of the railway and the use of part of the grounds as allotments during the Second World War, but the area became increasingly neglected and overgrown.
