Fulham Opera presents Strauss's Die Ägyptische Helena
Fulham Opera present this bonkers work by Richard Strauss with a libretto by his longtime collarborator Hugo von Hoffmanstahl.
Greek myth, elves, the face that launched those thousand ships, impostors, sorcery, and a psychic shellfish. Obviously.
Guido Martin Brandis directs, what we believe is the premiere UK performance of the (later) Vienna version of this work. Ben Woodward conducts Paul Plummer's arrangement, for piano, violin, clarinet, horn, 'cello, organ and percussion.
7.30pm start, except on Sundays, when it starts at 6pm
