Wild About Wool

on the 16th and 17th October, they're getting wild about wool and textures crafts at Chiltern Open Air Museum. There will be demonstrations of a sock knitting machine, have-a-go welt felting, peg loom weaving and braid/cord making, and you can help us knit/crochet pumpkins for our half-term trail. Visitors can also meet our Home Front re-enactors in Northolt Barn and find out about the role of knitting in the Great War, the manufacture of Soldier's woollen comforts and their distribution to the men, and women, at the front by the British Red Cross and First Aid Nursing Yeomanry. On Saturday only, you can try drop spinning and watch sheep dog pup, Jess show off her latest sheep handling skills.
