Tour of the Jesuit Church of the Immaculate Conception

Tour of the Jesuit Church of the Immaculate Conception

Join us, in person, for an introductory talk on the British Jesuit Archives and a tour of Farm Street Church.

The Archives hold a private collection at the offices of the Society of Jesus in Mayfair, next to the famous Farm Street Church. They primarily hold records created by, and relating to, members of the British province, covering England, Scotland, Wales, South Africa and Guyana. In addition, they have a large rare books collection and hold the administrative records of Jesuit churches, communities and institutions.

Much of the material dates from the 19th century onwards, after Catholic emancipation. However, there are also records of importance to the early English mission, which began in the late 16th century with the arrival of St Edmund Campion SJ.

There are no special entry requirements for this visit and you do not need to be a Member of the Society of Genealogists to join us. Expect a friendly atmosphere, an expert guide and lots of detail.

Note: This is not an online event.
This visit starts at 2 pm and finishes at 3.30 pm. It costs £10.00; Members of the Society of Genealogists: £8.00. Spaces are limited.
