House & Garden Opening

Situated within the beauty of the East Northamptonshire countryside, Deene Park is a real hidden gem.

Deene has been the home of the Brudenell family since 1514 and was the seat of the Earls of Cardigan, most notably the famous 7th Earl who led the Charge of the Light Brigade in the Crimean War of 1854.

The House has grown organically over the centuries as successive generations have expanded the footprint to create a substantial Tudor and Georgian mansion. Today this warm and welcoming family home provides the visitor with an interesting yet complimentary mixture of styles, including a considerable collection of family portraits, possessions, and memorabilia from the Crimean War.
The tranquil formal gardens have been developed since the mid-20th century. To the south of the house is a large parterre designed by David Hicks. Planted in 1990, low box hedges enclose formal planting that gives colour throughout the year in relaxing shades of blue, purple, and white. The gardens horticultural renaissance, including long borders, old fashioned roses, specimen trees and pleasure grounds, has clothed the bare bones of historical structures, bringing colour and form where there had previously been only expansive lawn.

Please the Deene Park website for 2021 opening times, prices and to book admission tickets.
