Carols in the Barn
Get in the festive spirit! Enjoy Christmas sketches, poems and readings from members of St Michael’s Church, and join in all the well-known carols. Suitable for all ages. The medieval barn makes a very atmospheric setting for celebrating the old Christmas story.
When you book, choose a performance starting at either 3pm or 6pm. Gates open at 2.15 pm and 5.15pm, and there’ll be a mulled wine and mince pies on arrival, included with your ticket. Additional festive treats are available to buy from the bar if you wish. The Bristol Waites will provide live musical entertainment during this period.
The Barn is a medieval agricultural building with minimal heating, so do wrap up warm! In places the ground is uneven, so please wear suitable footwear.
Tickets £5 (child £1) include a cup of mulled wine (or juice) and mince pie. Please walk or cycle if you possibly can, and bring a torch for walking along Church Lane in the dark.
Parking at the Barn is reserved for people with mobility problems (email in advance to save a space). No parking on Church Lane as this blocks the local traffic flow. But we have a Park and Stride arrangement with Winterbourne Academy in the High Street (BS36 1JL) where car parking is available at £1. From there it is a 10-15 minute walk down Church Lane to the Barn (or go down Beacon Lane, which has street lights, and along Church Lane).
