Enjoy light-hearted Christmas drama from members of St Michael’s Church, woven around well-known traditional carols for everyone to join in. The Medieval Barn makes a very atmospheric setting for a re-telling of the old Christmas story.
To get you in the festive spirit your ticket (£5 adult, £1 child) includes a cup of mulled wine and a mince pie to enjoy before the Carols performance starts (non-alcoholic, gluten-free, and children's alternatives available).
Two spies have been dropped into a foreign territory on a secret mission. Join them in the Barn as they investigate what's going on, and help them crack the coded message to find out something about Christmas! As they journey along and gather clues, there will be plenty of traditional Carols for everyone to sing along with as the drama unfolds.
So wear your warmest festive jumpers, hats and scarves, enjoy your mulled wine and warm mince pies, and help the spies to uncover the story of Christmas in the magnificent medieval barn. A lovely community event and a great start to the festive season for all ages.
NB. the Barn is a medieval agricultural building with little heating, so do dress warmly! Doors open 45 minutes before Carols performances for you to get your mulled wine and mince pies. Seating is unreserved.
Car-parking on site is only for those with mobility problems (reserve in advance by email), but plenty of parking is available at Winterbourne Academy on the High Street. It is a rural 10 minute walk down Church Lane to the Barn from there, and a torch is useful after dark. No parking on Church Lane as this is dangerous and impedes emergency vehicles.
Carols in the Barn takes place three times - Sat 9 December at 3pm, and on Sun 10th December at both 3pm and 6pm. Choose your slot when you book online via the Barn website or on Ticketsource.
