Calamity Dame - a Wild West pantomime
Yee-Haw! It’s panto time again as Mawdesley Amateur Dramatics Society presents their annual pantomime Calamity Dame which this year is set in the Wild West of Lancashire.
The panto tells the story of Mayor Baddun who seeks to gain possession of the old haunted goldmine aided by his eager but dim sidekicks Doolittle & Doolally. Will Mayor Baddun succeed in his evil scheme? Or will Jesse James with the help of the other outlaws defeat him? Who are Butch & Cassidy and what is their top-secret mission? Will Billy get his dream job as a cowboy? Will Calamity Dame get to perform her famous Can-Can? To find out the answers to these questions and more, don’t miss this year’s Mawdesley panto.
All of us at MADS are hugely enthusiastic to be able to welcome back our audiences again for a traditional family panto. This year’s show promises fun for everyone and is packed with action, gags, slapstick, singing, cheering (and booing!), a ghost, lots of colourful costumes, and maybe even a horse or two!.
Calamity Dame will be showing at Mawdesley Village Hall on Thursday December 2nd, Friday December 3rd and Saturday December 4th at 7:30pm, with a matinée on the Saturday at 2pm. Tickets are £8 Adults and £5 Children and are available via our website (www.madsociety.co.uk).
