Linton Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Seven gardens in the middle of Linton. The largest, Linton House, has the river Granta flowing through, and a pretty bridge. A rose walk, huge trees, and interesting planting, as well as a mulberry tree older than the house. Next door is The Old Guildhall where, in marked contrast with the opulence of its neighbour, there is a romantic and tranquil garden of curves and trees. Queens House near the top of the High Street has a hedged formal garden with statuary which reflects the age and feel of the Grade II* listed house, as well as other pretty areas, full of colour. The Shrubbery is an Edwardian garden with an unusual number of mature trees, separate well defined spaces, and interesting ponds.
Sun 15 May (2-6). Combined adm £10, Children £10. Home-made teas at The Old Guildhall. Times:14:00 to 18:00. Open for charity.
