Cowper & Newton Museum Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
The tranquil Flower Garden of C18 poet William Cowper, who said 'Gardening was of all employments, that in which I succeeded best', has plants introduced prior to his death in 1800, many mentioned in his writings. The Summer House Garden with Cowper's 'verse manufactory', now a Victorian Kitchen Garden, has new and heritage vegetables organically grown, also a herb border and medicinal plant bed.
For NGS: Sat 11, Sun 12 June (11-4.30). Admission £3.50, Children free. Home-made teas. Times:11:00 to 16:30. Open for charity.
