Staploe Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Old Farm Cottage: Formal and terraced beds with rose, lavender, lawns, surrounding thatched house (not open), leading to 3 acres of orchard, wildflower meadow, woodland and pond maintained for wildlife. Ginkgo, loquat and manuka trees grown from seed. Cherry blossom brightens the spring, and in summer bees and butterflies are attracted to the flower-beds and meadow. Falling Water House: a mature woodland garden, partly reclaimed from farmland 10 yrs ago and constructed around several century old trees inc three Wellingtonia. Kitchen garden potager, courtyard and herbaceous borders, planted to attract bees and wildlife, through which meandering paths have created hidden vistas.
