MATINÉE CONCERT: England & St George in St George's
England & St George in St George’s – a Matinée Concert
Edward Peak and the St George’s Hall Orchestra will once again be in residence in the Concert Room for a programme celebrating the St Georges and the very best of English music.
They will show once and for all, that British classical composers are more than a match for their continental colleagues – Edward Elgar musically paints vivid pictures of ancient Britain with the Triumphal March from his cantata Caractacus. Delius takes us across the Atlantic and Arthur Sullivan takes us to the ballet.
Along with the orchestra, our guests for this celebratory programme will be the ladies and gentlemen of the St Peter’s Singers.
Join us for a joyful afternoon of unsurpassed melody and musicality.
Programme includes:
Sullivan – Overture Iolanthe
Elgar – From the Bavarian Highlands
Vaughan Williams – Folk Song Suite

Parry – I Was Glad
Delius – La Calinda
