The event will involve re-enactors from the 1940s and wartime era. There will be exhibits of arms equipment, dress, transport and memorabilia of the period. Participants will give demonstrations and explanations of their particular subject. Some entertainers will be on hand take you back to this period with music, song, and character acting. A living History event Kevin Mack, Marina Mae, Johnny Victory and Jayne Darling will be on hand to entertain in their 1940s style. Steve McTigue will be in the roll of Winston Churchill giving speeches and information of this Statesman. Refreshments will be available at competitive prices from the cafe and its outside catering stall. The event will be in the grounds of Staveley Hall and it is planned that the Hall grounds will contain stalls and exhibits. Most of the grounds are accessible to disabled and young persons, all are welcome. Many participants will be promenading and some dancing forties style. Period clothing and uniforms will be on view with some on sale, and that new hairdo for the ladies could even be 1940s style!!
The event is educational, entertaining and inclusive, many elderly persons have benefitted from hearing songs from the past as well as in some cases re living the dances of the period.
