Summer Strum Ukulele Festival

The Summer Strum is a FREE ukulele festival hosting more than 50 ukulele bands over the weekend of 15-18th July. As well as weekend camping, there are stalls selling food, vintage and hand-made quirky finds. Kids will find plenty to do from storytelling to crafting activities to zorbs, inflatables and a play park. There are workshops on how to write and play ukulele, plus yoga sessions and morning strum-alongs. The Strum is located at the Junction Pub - a venue well known for it's live music, 1 minutes walk from Rainford Junction station. Now in it's 8th year, the festival has moved to Rainford from it's previous home in Hoylake. It is one of the biggest ukulele festivals in the North West and attracts performers from all over the world. Run by volunteers, the Strum raises money for two charities - Wirral Mind and Liverpool Women's Hospital Neo Natal Unit. All this whilst combatting loneliness and promoting community inclusion through the playing and sharing of this small but mighty instrument.
The festival takes place from 15th - 18th July 2022. Activities start from 10.30. Bands begin at 12 noon on the Main Stage and the Marquee Stage and finish around 10.30. Late night sessions in the Junction Pub on Friday and Saturday evenings until late.
This is a FREE festival, but any donation to our charities will be very gladly received.
Camping is a flat fee of £25 for tents and £35 for campervans from Friday 15th - Monday 18th.
Payment is required for kids inflatables & Zorbs.
