Kinky Boots The Musical

BANOS Musical Theatre (Formerly Banstead & Nork Amateur Operatic Society) are presenting ‘KINKY BOOTS – The Musical’ at the Epsom Playhouse, 25-28 May 2020. This is the first stage production in this area of Kinky Boots - the uplifting new British musical comedy which is inspired by true events. It is based on the hit 2005 British film of the same name by Geoff Deane and Tim Firth following a BBC documentary. Kinky Boots features stunning costumes, a joyous, Tony-winning score by Cyndi Lauper and a hilarious, uplifting book by Broadway comedy legend Harvey Fierstein.

It’s a feel-good musical that takes you from the factory floors of a gentlemen’s shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Kinky Boots has a powerful message of friendship, love and acceptance and the importance of fighting for what is right, and discovering why, sometimes, “the best way to fit in... is to stand out.”

The Society welcomes back James Fortune as director and is pleased to welcome Shaz Dudhia as musical director and Della Bhujoo as choreographer.
