Guildford Cathedral Art Exhibition - Fiona Bunn Alpine Photographs
Fiona, also known as ‘Fi Photos’ is a British and Swiss alpine photographer and alpinist, whose stunning ‘snow-scapes’ have been exhibited in London, Milan and Zermatt. She attributes her inspiration from childhood visits to the Swiss Alps and Scottish Highlands where her family would go on day-long hikes and scrambles.
This exhibition ‘Mountain Paths’ is an appreciation of the Alps, a journey between darkness and light reflecting the challenges for these ancient landscapes. The Matterhorn is particularly featured, being an icon for both visitors and the local community. The visible splendour now reveals the invisible impact of climate change.
Fiona is well respected for her fusion of artistic photographic skill and knowledge and passion for the alps. She is a member of the Royal Photographic Society, an associate artist of the world-famous Alpine Club, the BMC and is an artist contributor to ‘Glacier Hub’ part of the Earth Institute and CRED at Columbia University, New York. Her work has also been print and digitally featured in the Guardian newspaper.
The exhibition is free to attend. The Cathedral is open from 10.30am to 3.30pm every day except on Sunday, when this changes to 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Although this maybe subject to change, so please click on this link for further information www.guildford-cathedral.org/visit
