1 Union Road - Open Garden for NGS
A small, south-facing town garden with views of the Solent and plenty of sea air. Planting is tropical and takes full advantage of the many hours of sunshine here on the Isle of Wight. A combination of unusual plants from drier, arid environments, with lush planting in the zones towards the bottom of the garden from temperate climates. Specimen trees throughout the garden and beautiful walled garden area. There is a two-level pond featuring wildlife and Mediterranean planting, as well as the 'working' area of the garden featuring grape vines and olive, apple, fig, citrus and walnut trees. There is also a living agapanthus wall. Finally, there is a herb garden within the outdoor kitchen area.
Sun 28 Aug (11-5). Admission £4, Children free. Home-made teas. Times:11:00 to 17:00. Open for charity.
