Active Adventure - Swanbourne School, Bucks
Active Adventure camps are for children aged 6-14 with a passion for all things outdoors, muddy and adventurous. We generally stay out come rain or shine, so make sure you read the kit list before attending. The camps focus on building children’s independence and relationship with nature and the great outdoors. You can expect most activities to be delivered in the woods or under a tarp. Children will experience cooking on a campfire and introduced to basic bushcraft skills such as whittling and shelter building.
Swanbourne House is a Co-ed Prep School found in a wonderful countryside setting of 55 acres of parkland and woodland.
Our pupils are free to build camps, climb trees and explore the many quirks and curiosities across the site.
We have the squirrel-carved fallen tree, the sunken lawn, the amphitheatre, the Outdoor Learning Classroom and team building stations.
Wildlife that can be seen on the grounds on a daily basis includes red kites, deer, woodpeckers, pheasants and herons (as well as the local cow herd from the nearby farm!).
Being in the woods, making dens, learning bushcraft, sleeping under the stars and enjoying food cooked on the fire are the things great memories are made of. It also develops team working skills, problem solving, grit, determination and resilience.
