First World War presentation-The Somme, 1916
Dr Rodney Atwood is a graduate of the McMaster University, Canada and Churchill College, Cambridge. He served in the Royal Tank Regiment before pursuing an academic career. He has written extensively on the military history of the British Empire and his most recent book was a biography of General Rawlinson. He will be talking about the Battle of the Somme, 1916, one of the most important battles fought by the British Army in the conflict.
Doors will open at 7:00pm, with the presentation starting at 7:30pm.
The talk is free although a small donation, payable at the door, is encouraged to pay for the running of the branch & to support it's activities.
Non-WFA members most welcome.
