Drinkstone celebrates with Art & Flowers
Over the weekend of 16th & 17th July, Drinkstone is holding a fund raising event; Drinkstone celebrates with Art & Flowers in All Saints’ Church.
For two days from 11 am to 5pm Drinkstone will be celebrating the creativity of its community with an Art display by the very talented members of the Art Group, an exhibition of children’s art, and spectacular floral displays crafted by the amazing team of flower arrangers. Many of the arrangements will be sponsored by local people to celebrate a life, or an anniversary or a special event in their lives in what promises to be a riot of colour. In addition, there will be refreshments, plants & produce and cake stalls giving our local growers and bakers an opportunity to show their skills. A service of thanksgiving will be held at 5 pm on Sunday to bring the event to a close.
Drinkstone celebrates with Art and Flowers will form part of the Festival of Suffolk, Suffolk’s unique contribution to the national Jubilee celebrations as the country and commonwealth mark the historic Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
All proceeds from this event will go to All Saints’ Church which was built in the 14th century. It has a beautiful 15th century oak screen and an historically important organ. The font in the church is the oldest man-made structure in the village and is older than the church.
