Ipswich-O 2022: Christchurch Park
This is the third in our new series of drop-in sessions designed for families, beginners & improvers - anyone who enjoys exploring the outdoors with a map! Meet us at our venue at any time between 13:00 & 15:00 & we'll help you choose a suitable course, explain what to do & set you off. The meeting point for this first event in Christchurch Park will be towards the southern end of the park, alongside the path to the round pond, between the mansion & the war memorial - just look out for the SuffOC sign!
You'll have a choice of 3 different courses, from 1 to 3Km in length. The shortest courses will be fairly easy to find your way around, while the longer courses are also more tricky, to offer more of a challenge. You'll be using a large-scale, high quality map with the course shown on it - you'll need to find your way to each of the checkpoints marked, & in the correct order - all you have to do is to decide the best route for each section. The course will be timed - we'll lend you an ECard which will be time-stamped at each checkpoint - it'll be up to you to decide whether to make a race of it or to just explore at a leisurely pace.
Once you reach the Finish your result will be shown on a special Ipswich-O 2022 Passport - this will be your record card which lasts for all 4 events, & will also give you free entry into our Summer Series events at Clare & Needham Lake (plus Orwell Country Park if you've attended our Ipswich-O 2022 events in May)
