Stand Up - A play

A black comedy by Crosby writer Bernie Winston. We look at the sad life of Mark McGuire (Trev Fleming), a struggling comic with a gambling addiction, which has ruined his life. His on-stage jokey personae is very different from his private life. Wife Marie (Lisa Worth) has left him and taken their daughter. She now lives with Fraser (Dan Pendleton) a wealthy estate agent who sneers at Mark as he struggles to provide any sort of treats for his daughter when he has her. And lurking in the shadows is Toni (Jackie Gorst) the shadowy enforcer who keeps twisting Mark's arm, literally in some cases, to carry out dubious duties for the loan shark. Can he get his life back on track and ensure he does not lose touch with his daughter altogether? The play is directed by Kevin Foott.
