Wildlife Week
Immerse your family in nature at Audley End Miniature Railway’s Wildlife Week, running from 28th May to 5th June 2022. Our Nature Corner will encourage children to connect with nature, learning about hidden habitats, creepy crawlies, and insects that live all around us.
Take a peep inside our fascinating bug hotels, try and spot a worm or two hiding in the wormery, explore our NEW nature pond and if you’re quiet and still, the bird boxes might just reveal some feathered friends. Nature is hidden around every corner and upturned stone – you just need to stop to enjoy it.
Your family can enjoy a magical journey on our miniature railway which takes you deep into our ancient woods. You’ll be sure to spot woodland animals along the route, and perhaps a teddy bear or two.
The train will take you back to the picnic field where children can let off steam on the adventure play area. Then sit back and enjoy one of our interactive shows, extending your child’s wildlife knowledge even further.
Families can also explore the enchanted Fairy and Elf Walk, which winds through the magical woods where children can spot tiny fairies living in harmony with nature.
Our Wildlife Week worksheet will guide you through a variety of topics that can be ticked off throughout the day as you explore the site with your family.
The Woodland café will be serving locally sourced and homemade food all day. We have everything you need for a memorable family day out in the great outdoors.
