Simon Allen Quartet - Live at Sunnyside Jazz Club
SIMON ALLEN is an award-winning jazz saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist. He started his career playing within NYJO and soon joined the acclaimed Clark Tracey Quintet and the Laurence Cottle All Star Big Band. He has worked with iconic artists such as Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Beverley Knight, and Jamie Cullum. He has also appeared at major UK venues and festivals, as well as on Jools Holland's Later TV show and the recent Strictly Come Dancing arena tour.
We feel so honoured to have the Simon Allen Quartet kick-start our summer events at Sunnyside Jazz Club. Simon is backed by some of the UK's leading jazz musicians; Laurence Cottle, Gareth Williams, and Jack Thomas, who collectively have played with artists from Pee Wee Ellis to Black Sabbath! This exciting group offers rippin' solos, funky grooves, and soulful expression. Expect an eclectic mix of upbeat standards by Joshua Redman, Roy Hargrove, Cole Porter, Mike Stern, Miles Davis, Michael Brecker, etc. - a thrilling performance is assured!

The performance comprises of two 50 minute sets with an interval of 20 minutes.
Doors open at 7:30pm. The performance will run between 8-10pm. Each ticket-holder will be allocated a seat so please book groups under one booking so that you can be seated together.
A bar selling snacks, soft and alcoholic drinks is provided. Drinks are served throughout the event (card payments only).
Free parking at the venue.
