Cristian (well-known to Milton Keynes audiences) is a prizewinner in international competitions. A former string finalist in the BBC Young Musician Competition, he has performed as a concerto and recital soloist in many of the great venues of Europe including the Mozarteum Salzburg, Atheneum Bucharest, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Wigmore Hall, London.
Prizewinning pianist Susana Gomez Varquez has performed across Europe and Latin America. She has recorded for RTVE and BBC Radio 3, and will shortly make her debut in the U.S. with the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra. The duo offer a lovely programme of French music including Fauré’s Berceuse and Andante, Debussy’s Sonata in G minor (one of the composer’s last works), Franck’s masterly Sonata in A major, and Ravel’s thrilling Rhapsodie ‘Tzigane’.
