National Garden Scheme
Important Arts and Crafts garden laid out by H Avray Tipping in 1922, open for charity. Wonderful herbaceous borders and hidden delights. Home-made teas in aid of Mitchel Troy Church.
What were rustic stone tanks set into the wall with steps leading to a swimming pool, surrounded by concrete and lampposts, are now 100 ft long double herbaceous borders. These contrast with groves of rhododendrons and azaleas sweeping down over the steep stone path which leads down to the stream garden with its fernery, and primula beds along the waterside. There are far reaching views over the Vale of Usk from impressive stone terraces.
