Roman Britain and Where to Find It May 9th @ Cookham Festival
Cookham resident, Mike Bryan, co-author of 'Roman Britain and Where to Find It' will be looking at the best Roman villas, forts, walls and bath-houses, as well as the hidden gems which the uninitiated might pass by. Stories in this lavishly illustrated talk include the ring and curse which inspired a best-selling novel, the dig that provided the British Museum with some of it's most popular treasures, and sights that remain enigmatic - many within a day's trip from Cookham.
