SPECTACULAR MONTEVERDI COMES TO EPSOM

Sackbuts, Cornetts and a Theorbo are amongst the instruments tuning up to join Epsom Chamber Choir for its long-anticipated performance of Monteverdi’s Vespers at St Martin’s Church, Epsom on Saturday 25th June.
Written in 1610, the Vespers is a spectacular work with multiple choral parts, virtuoso solos and fanfares of baroque instruments, guaranteed to excite and energise performers and audience alike. This ambitious project was originally planned for Summer 2020 and the choir is thrilled to be able eventually to bring it to fruition.
The choir will be joined by highly accomplished professional soloists and orchestra of top players from the early music world, conducted by music director Mark Biggins.
Epsom Chamber Choir is one of Surrey’s leading chamber choirs. It performs regularly at St Martin’s Church, Epsom where the excellent acoustics make the most of the choir’s superb sound.
The concert will take place at St Martin’s Church, Church Road, Epsom KT17 4PX at 7.30pm on Saturday 25th June.
