Concert: Sacred Music & Folk Songs for Chamber Choir & Harp

A summer’s evening of uplifting choral music by Mozart, Britten, Bruckner, John Rutter, Purcell and other favourites at the historic St. Mary’s Church, Earl Soham (near Framlingham). Popular London-based chamber choir Voxcetera will be joined by accomplished harpist Olivia Jageurs.

The concert opens with sacred music spanning 400 years, including anthems by Mozart, Bruckner, Purcell and Tallis, and atmospheric works by contemporary composers James MacMillan and Ola Gjeilo. The second half features folk songs from the British Isles and France, in sparkling and haunting arrangements by Poulenc, Vaughan Williams, Britten, John Rutter, Bob Chilcott and others.

Audience members can enjoy a free glass of wine at the interval, and a portion of ticket sales will support the Friends of St. Mary’s Church, Earl Soham, a charity which serves to maintain this Grade 1-listed village church.
