Father’s Day Special Foraging Walk, Campfire Lunch and Drum Circle
Treat the Dad in your life to a very Special Day out.
In the morning we will have a Foraging Walk, exploring the pretty farm, learning about many of the wonderful wild plants growing all around us, and tasting their very varied and delicious flavours.
Then we will gather round the campfire and cook a tasty lunch, including some ingredients collected during our morning walk.
After lunch is finished we will take up our drums (no need to bring your own, but you can if you wish) and find our inner rhythms in a communal drum circle.
Foraging is a great way to reconnect with our wild natural world and you will not only have an amazing experience but you will learn so much about our free wild food, so you leave with a new way of seeing what is growing around us and the world in general.
Preparing, cooking and eating lunch around the campfire, chatting, sharing stories, is how we all used to live, something we have lost almost completely in our modern lives of tv dinners and smart phone screens. Revisiting this old way of life is very uplifting and connects us with each other.
Drums have been used for many thousands of years as a way of communicating and of building community. There is no need to have ever done any drumming before. We will provide the drums and get you started with some rhythms until you gradually find your own.
This is a day to remember, a shared experience for your Dad and his family to enjoy on the day and for a lifetime of stories.
