Farmer Dawes Farm Open Day

Come and experience a Real working farm. Meet the farmers and their animals. Cows, Calves, Romney Sheep, Lambs, Chicken, Ducks, Alpaca's and Pygmy Goats.
Watch in amazement as one of Scotland Champion Shearers glides his blades at the speed of lightening over some of the sheep flock or enjoy the Clydesdale horses being put through their paces. You have heard of One Man and His Dog, watch as a local farmer skillfully sends his dog away to round up a flock of sheep. Lots of free activities, from weaving, milking a cow, grinding corn to make flour to lambing a sheep.
Pig Roast, Hot Food, local Ice Cream, Cakes and hot and cold drinks - so why not have lunch at the farm.
Lots of local organisations and stalls - Can you identify breeds of sheep by just the touch of their wool? How many trees can you identify in the countryside? Which bird lives in which nest?
Plants for sale. Competitions: Children's Farm Storytime. Ask the Farmer Question Time.
