If Peter Cook Had Played The Bass
Top-class musicians and humourists Roger Carey and Mike Hatchard bring to life the much-loved leading figure of 60s British satire, Peter Cook and jazz partner Dudley Moore.
Peter Cook was almost certainly the greatest comedian of his generation, intellectual one minute, grotesque and irrelevant the next. From Monty Python to the Princess Bride, Cook's humor inspired a generation of comedians.
Telling this affectionate tribute are two of the South Coast’s most accomplished and best-loved musicians.
Steeleye Span Bassist Roger Carey has had a long association with the band, and with Peter Knight.
Pianist Mike Hatchard toured America with Cleo Laine as a member of the Dankworth Quintet, and was Matt Monro’s youngest ever musical director.
Prepare yourself for an evening of memories, mayhem and sublime jazz.
