Talk on French playwright Moliere's classic comedy Dom Juan
Epsom and Ewell French Club’s guest speaker on June 21 will be the bilingual actor and director David Furlong.
His talk (in French) at 7pm in Bourne Hall, Ewell, will be about the work of the Exchange Theatre in bringing great French drama to British audiences. In this, the 400th anniversary year of Molière’s birth, he will explore the continuing appeal of one of France’s greatest dramatists, focusing on his own recent starring role as Sganarelle in a production of the classic comedy Dom Juan at The Vaults Theatre, London.
David Furlong trained as an actor at the Paris National Theatre of Chaillot. He has acted, in French and English, over a 20 year-career in France and London in plays and films. He established Exchange Theatre in 2006 and has been its artistic director and producer since then.
