Boston's Lost Industrial Buildings

This illustrated talk by Neil Wright will show many buildings demolished in the last fifty years or earlier that were used in lots of different industries in Boston, some surprising. They include two ironworks that sent steam engines and other products worldwide, feather factories and works that made cigars, crushed seeds for their oil or packaged seeds for gardeners. Transport industry losses include railway offices where locomotives were designed in the 1840's, sheds to store locomotives, workshops where they were repaired and creosote plants, riverside warehouses, dock warehouse, coal chutes a fish quay and turnpike toll-houses
