Day trip to Wollerton Old Hall and Hodnet Hall, Shropshire by coach

Wigmore Gardening Club coach trip to Wollerton Old Hall and Hodnet Hall, Shropshire. Non-members welcome!

Wollerton Old Hall is a formal, modern garden on an old site. Located in north Shropshire and covering 4 acres, its garden rooms are richly planted with perennials and bursting with design ideas. The garden is renowned for its salvias, clematis and roses, growing in controlled exuberance, and the clever use of colour, form and scale.

In the afternoon discover the secrets of the Hodnet Hall Gardens including the 17th century dovecot and Tithe Barn, historic restaurant, waterfalls and walkways. Uncover the History of the estate and the Heber-Percy family, whose lives have been entwined with the village of Hodnet for nearly 300 years. As well as the vibrant tapestry of plants and trees, the wildlife at Hodnet Hall is rich and varied.

Bring a packed lunch and a drink to enjoy in the morning at Wollerton before the coach takes the 15 minute route to Hodnet Hall, where if required you'll be able to enjoy afternoon tea in their restaurant. Plenty of space in the luggage compartment of the coach to pack your plant purchases!
The coach departs Wigmore Community Centre (formerly the Village Hall) at 9:30 a.m. and returns at approx 5:30 p.m.
Cost: £35 per non club member, includes coach and entry to both properties.
