A Night at the Opera

An evening of popular favourites from opera, operetta and music theatre, delivered by an international ensemble in a historic outdoor setting.
North Wales Opera Studio have devised a programme with something for everyone. It includes the best known arias and duets from La Traviata, Tosca, Madam Butterfly, Die Fledermaus, The Magic Flute, Macbeth, Carmen and Il Trovatore as well as a medley of numbers from West Side Story.
Among the performers are Hungarian mezzo-soprano Eva Safrany; baritone Csaba Szöke, also from Hungary, and three Welsh singers: sprinto tenor Mark Jenkins from Bridgend and sopranos Hollie-Ann Clark from Cardiff and Zena O'May from Flintshire. They'll be joined by Charlotte Derry, another soprano from Lichfield and Rosie Braddy, a mezzo from Nottingham. Musical Director is Andrew Charity, who's worked extensively with RADA.
The performance will take place in the attractive Boys' Courtyard of the historic Workhouse. The audience are invited to bring a garden chair, a rug and, if they like, a picnic. The bar will be open. If it rains the event will transfer to the Workhouse Venue.
Performance on Saturday, 16 July: 7.00 – 9.30. Tickets are available now through Eventbrite: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/a-night-at-the-opera-tickets-292361098917. The cost is £17, or £15 for the first fifty Early Birds.
