Esher French Circle’s guest speaker on 15 June will be Thierry Viennois, presenting the history of France through its songs

Thierry’s talk (in French) at 8pm at West End Village Hall, Esher, will present a potted history of France in a lively and colourful way – through its songs.

The evening will include songs about major events, such as the French Revolution, as well as illustrious historical figures, including Joan of Arc and Charlemagne. There will also be songs about both world wars and other difficult periods in France’s history.

Doors open at 7.30, for a chat over a cup of coffee; the talk starts at 8pm and the evening will finish at 9.30pm. Admission to non-members is £5.

Esher French Circle organises illustrated monthly talks on a variety of topics, given in French by native or fluent French speakers, at West End Village Hall, Esher, Bourne Hall, Ewell, on the third Wednesday of each month, starting at 8pm.
