Shiptonthorpe open gardens, flower festival, scarecrows

Shiptonthorpe is holding its 'Open Gardens', Flower Festival and Scarecrows weekend again, having had to cancel it in the past. This year there are 12 village gardens open each very different but a warm welcome in every garden! In All Saints' Church there is a gorgeous Flower Festival entitled 'All things bright and beautiful' based on the hymn and supported by handmade banners depicting each verse which are on display in the church. Look out for the scarecrows as you walk around the village which is approximately one mile in distance. At the opposite end of where the church is sited, is the old primary school and now a vibrant village hall. You can stop and have a rest whilst having a drink and home made cake. The cost is £5 and this covers entry to the gardens and the Church. The tickets will be on sale at the Church, Brookside (near the traffic lights), the Village Hall and the Playing Fields car park. All proceeds are for the Church, All Saints'.
