Book launch of A Very Alternative Coast to Coast
A book launch event by local Author Peter Kay for his latest title A Very Alternative Coast to Coast. The book is a gentle and humorous story of three men approaching retirement, as they embark upon a walk of misadventure across the North of England. With collapses, falls, getting lost and walking in the wrong direction it's a wonder they get there at all. Be regaled with stories from the landscape they walk through and their experiences along the way.
Meet a Lithuanian flame thrower, a group of lycra clad cycling Geordies, a woman in a cafe, leading to a clandestine relationship. Hear about the man mountain pub crawlers, the first Mayor of Richmond, the founder of the Quaker movement, the castle that wasn't there, a path last travelled by a Carthusian monk.
A Very Alternative Coast to Coast has been likened by fellow writers to Last if the Summer Wine meets Tom Sharpe.
At the book launch, wine and refreshments will be served. There will be readings from and a Q&A with the Author. Signed copies of the book will be available All profits from book sales will go to support Ukranian refugees.
