The Hurlingham Polo International Day for the Coronation Cup
returns to Guards Polo Club, Windsor on Saturday 23rd July
Saturday 23rd July sees the return of the historic International Day for the Coronation Cup to the majestic Guards Polo Club, its long-standing home, after 5 years. The Coronation Cup dates back to 1911 and this year England, captained by James Harper, will go head-to-head with Uruguay who will be playing for the iconic trophy for the first time.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Windsor Great Park, this is a wonderful opportunity to watch world class polo in action at the main international event of the polo season. It will be a true celebration of the sport with lots to see and enjoy before and after the main event at 3.30pm. The full scope of the sport across the age ranges will be showcased, from the youngest Pony Club Polo players on their multi-purpose ponies (known as Fluffies), through the best of British youth players in the Colts Cup (U-17) and Stagshead Trophy (U-14) Finals and culminating with a University match. All will be commentated throughout by experts who will guide spectators through the action. The Household Cavalry and Tidworth Military Band will add to the occasion with sundowner drinks in the Clubhouse bringing the day to a close on what is hoped will be a beautiful summer evening!
Gates open at 10am, refreshments and delicious street eats will be available to buy and picnics are welcome and always a popular choice for those looking to enjoy a true British day out! General admission tickets are now available at just £35. Families are welcome, children under 12 have free admission and there is complimentary parking.
