Hoylandswaine Well Dressing
A well dressing on the theme of Kings & Queens opposite the Lord Nelson Pub in Hoylandswaine. A small group of ladies started this tradition in 2014. We confess to muscling in on this ancient art of decorating wells and springs with with pictures made from natural materials and flower petals pressed into clay, established in Derbyshire, We hope that we are coming somewhere close to matching the skills and imagination of those who taught us. It is now part of our annual village Festival.
The well will be blessed by our new vicar Canon Keith Farrow at 1.00 on Sunday 9th July.
