Drawn From Life
An exhibition in celebration of the human form with drawings and paintings by a group of artists who meet to create art direct from life.
The Drawn from Life group was established back in January of 1997. Initially the members were all art teachers or others with a background in art and they began meeting together regularly to draw and paint from the human form.
There is no tuition within the group as it was always intended to provide an opportunity for like-minded people to join together, in an activity they enjoy. With currently around 12 members, mostly of mature years, they continue to meet regularly on Saturday mornings during college term time in one of the art studios at QMC.
This is the group’s first exhibition since 2016, which was also at Proteus Creation Space, and they are very much looking forward to displaying their work which will reflect the wide range of artistic styles and media used by the members.
This year’s exhibition will feature work from:
Sheila Dick
Keith Sturgess
David Bloomfield
Jill Eckersley
Antonia Dewhurst
Cilla Kimber
Jan Smart
Dinah Winter
Buz Busbridge
