Summer Reading Challenge - Gadgeteers
The Summer Reading Challenge 2022 - meet the Gadgeteers! Saturday 9th July - Saturday 10th September
This summer, children aged 4-11 can visit the Library and get involved in a science and innovation themed Summer Reading Challenge. By reading 6 books over the summer holidays and collecting small prizes along the way, children can help the Gadgeteers come up with innovative ways to get everything ready for their summer party!
Younger siblings aged under 4 can also get involved by taking part in a special Mini Challenge.
This year we've an extra prize too! All children that complete the Challenge at Lincoln Central Library will receive a voucher for a free swim at the OneNK Leisure Centre.
Alongside the Challenge we will be running weekly children’s activities linked to the themes of food, fashion, technology and music.
Events taking place throughout the holidays:
Saturday 9th July – Summer Reading Challenge Launch – 10:00am – 1:00pm
Wednesday 27th July – Food - Make an Oreo microwave cake – 11:30am – 12:30pm
Wednesday 3rd August – Wind Power – Construct a Hovercraft – 11:30am – 12:30pm
Friday 5th August – Join Science author Anne Dale in experimenting with colour – 11:30am - 12:30pm
Wednesday 10th August – Experiments with Wind & Suction – 11:30am – 12:30pm
Wednesday 17th August – Fashion & Clothing & fun with the Mad Scientists – 11:30am – 12:30pm
Wednesday 24th August – Optical Illusions – 11:30am – 12:30pm
Wednesday 31st August – Music & Instruments – 11:30am – 12:30pm

You can pop into the library anytime to change your books & progress through the Summer Reading Challenge at your own pace.
