Stonehouse Walking Festival 2022

Stonehouse Walking Festival 2022

We are very pleased and excited to announce our 3rd Stonehouse Walking Festival, which is taking place from Friday 9th to Sunday 18th September 2022.

The Festival includes a wide variety of guided walks for all ages and abilities – and it’s free! The walks on offer range from short walks and strolls, to day-long hikes for fitter walkers. There will even be a boat trip suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs. In addition there will be walks with added special interests including family fun, history, nature and trees.

Stonehouse town is an ideal base for exploring this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pathways including the Cotswold Way lead in all directions across fields, through woodlands, along canal, river and rail trails, and onto rolling countryside, hills and valleys. Panoramic views can be enjoyed all around, including across to the Severn valley and beyond.

Stonehouse is a pretty town in Gloucestershire with a gold award from Heart of England in Bloom. As well as all the amazing flower displays and projects, the town also has a community arboretum plan and manages an ever-diverse collection of interesting trees. Did you know that Stonehouse also sits along the gradually reconnecting Stroudwater canal, or that it has a vineyard, a weir, a working paper bag factory (since 1922) and the delightful Ocean?

Join us for the walking festival. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, and to find out more about Stonehouse and its beautiful surroundings.

To get a flavour of what will be on offer, visit the festival’s website or the Facebook page for updates: www.facebook.com/Stonehousewalkingfestival
Note that some walks require booking as space is limited. These walks and booking details are clearly marked in our brochure which can be found on our website.
