'Nazrana' (an offering) tours Manchester this September 2022
Swati Natekar is a UK based renowned singer, songwriter and composer, who has over forty-five years’ experience of working with some of the world’s great musicians and producers. She has performed a diverse genre of music including Indian Classical, Semi-Classical, Ghazals and Bollywood hit songs.
Swati Natekar is the beautiful voice behind memorable British Asian songs including ‘Nadia’ (with Nitin Sawhney, from the Mercury nominated album ‘Beyond Skin’) and the popular ‘Khwaab’ (with Niraj Chag, from the album ‘Along The Dusty Road’) as well as providing the haunting vocals on the chart-busting dance floor anthem, ‘American Dream’ by Jakatta. She has also collaborated with Ustad Zakir Hussain, Craig Armstrong, Talvin Singh, Sonu Nigam & Muzaffer Ali.
Swati Natekar has released several critically acclaimed albums including the hypnotic ‘Destiny Chakra’. She also sang on the theme song for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010, especially recorded for the BBC. In 2018, Swati recorded, composed & sung a track for the Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace. She continues to perform at some of the world’s most prestigious venues across Europe, the Caribbean, South Africa, Pakistan, Kenya and India.
This summer and autumn, Swati Natekar tours her new concert, 'Nazrana' (an offering), a representation of her rich musical roots, bringing together a team of incredible musicians to perform a set of different genres of Indian music including classic Bollywood songs (paying tribute to the late Lata Mangeshkar), Classical, Semi-classical, Devotional as well as popular Ghazals. The concerts also celebrate India’s 75th Independence Anniversary and Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
This performance and the tour is supported using public funding by an Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grant.
