Graham Boyd - Volatile Creatures
UH Arts+ Culture is delighted to present an exhibition of Graham Boyd's drawings and paintings. The exhibition charts three key periods in the artist's practice, includes works that demonstrate the coming together of ideas and captures how the artist's practice continues to grow into his 9th decade.
'We are all volatile and complex creatures - made up of atoms and particles, all-prevailing and universal. This is what I am trying to reflect'
When reviewing the artist's practice over 50 years, it reveals a steady progression of work underlined with a fascination for hidden forces in nature. The earliest works in this exhibition are the New Hampshire Grids of the 1970's. These meticulous and repetitive drawings contrast with the expressive large, colourful paintings of the 1980's, but have combined to inspire the artist's most recent work.
The exhibition is free to visit.
