Sunday Special Workshops at Queens Park Arts Centre (12 February 2023)

Pottery Throwing
Tutor: Charlie Butters
Come and take your potter's wheel driving test in this fun and friendly all day course. Whether a complete beginner or someone looking to gain more experience, this class will teach you everything you need to know about throwing pots at the wheel. Your course fee includes the cost of firing for two pieces. Bring an apron and an old towel.

Raffia Lampshade
Tutor: Claire Richards
In this workshop you will have the chance to experience the joy of working with raffia, learn new techniques and different styles and take home a lamp that has just enjoyed a lovely raffia face-lift. All raffia is supplied, and if you have a small table lamp with a shade at home then please bring along. Otherwise there will be a small lampshade available for students to purchase and work on – please note that this may be a charity shop purchase. Pleas bring a pair of comfortable scissors and and old lampshade that might enjoy an upcycle.

Stained Glass
Tutor: Caroline Kearsey
In this fun, sociable day, you will learn how to cut glass, copper foil and solder to create your own beautiful piece of art. There will be a choice of spring and summer- themed projects for indoor or outdoor use including hearts, flowers, bees and lambs - encapsulating Spring! All materials are provided. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring a mask and apron. If bringing a drink with you, please ensure it is in a bottle or lidded cup.

All classes are suitable for adults and students aged 16+.
Don't forget to bring a packed lunch.
Time: 10am - 4pm
