Gypsy jazz and tasty BBQ, anyone? OK... then come to Melin Tegwynt (it's free entry) on Sunday 21 August, from 2 pm! As the food roasts to perfection, FiddleBop will provide hot and sultry Gypsy jazz: updated on violin, guitar, keyboard, fretless bass, and with four voices in harmony.
FiddleBop's Gypsy jazz is sophisticated but not pretentious or stuffy. Is danceable but not rhythmically boring. Has plenty of improvised solos but is still tuneful and melodic.
FiddleBop play jazz that's drawn from all of the genre's century-long history. Look forward to get-up-and-dance jazz from the 1920s, 1930s chilli-hot swing, bop and cool post-bop from the 40s and 50s, jazz-flavoured classic pop and folk, and the band's own creations.
